These photos were taken at the Ko Olina resort, on the island of Oahu, in December 2009. A Pacific storm created some of the largest waves seen in decades. At Ko Olina, on the leeward south shore, we saw larger waves than usual, at 8 to 10 feet, but nothing compared to the 30-40 foot waves on the north shore. The camera was an old Canon Rebel XT with a 70-200mm f/4L IS and a EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8IS. Feel free to use them for your wallpaper or desktop, but please, no commercial use without my permission.
